What to Include When Requesting a Truck Tyre Quote

An enquiry that says “11R22.5, 200 tyres” leaves two questions open. Are the tyres for drive axles, trailer axles or both? If both, how many are needed for each? Listing the size, axle position and quantity together gives the supplier enough information to start reviewing options. Add operating and shipping details according to what you want the quote to cover.

Tyre Size and Axle Position

For each item, give the full tyre size, the intended axle position and an estimated quantity. For example, list 295/80R22.5 steer tyres on one line and put 11R22.5 drive and 11R22.5 trailer tyres on separate lines. If the order will include several sizes or patterns in one container, mention that when requesting the quote.

When replacing an existing tyre, attach a clear photo of the sidewall markings if available. Include any required ply rating, load index or speed symbol you already know.

Loads and Road Conditions

If you would like the supplier to suggest a tread pattern, describe the vehicle, its typical operating load and the roads it travels on. For example, a truck may spend most of its time on paved highways but regularly enter gravel yards. If available, add the maximum axle load and whether the tyres are fitted as singles or duals. You can still start an enquiry with the size, axle position and estimated quantity, then confirm these details when reviewing the suggested options.

Quantities and Shipping Details

For an FOB quote, name the preferred port of loading if you have one. If you also want ocean freight priced separately, include the destination port. Mention any target arrival date so the supplier can assess availability and shipping options together.

For example, “We’re looking for 100 tyres in 11R22.5 for drive axles, mainly for highway use. Please quote FOB Qingdao and provide a separate ocean freight estimate to Brisbane.”
